As you may know, Lisa Vitiello of highly loved and successful Morristown-based Simply Lisa’s Gourmet Food and Catering has been running Portofino’s Italian Restaurant for the last few years, after this family business’s long-time owner passed away.
Lisa has been updating aspects of the store – like renovating the decor inside (like installing beautiful barn wood doors between rooms and hanging her original, framed Italian family photos and wedding portraits on the walls). Many people may have also noticed that she had the exterior refinished and repainted… and it looks so great.
Recently, Lisa reached out to (me) Michael Maguire, Graphic Designer, Visual Artist, and Wedding/Event Planner (born and raised in Morristown/Morris Plains and living and working in Morris Township now) to redesign the Portofino’s look, specifically the menu, and we’re excited to announce that we’re ready to show it to the world!
Along with the new menu design (in beautiful, new, wood menu holders), Portofino’s now has a fresh new logo – to be seen for the first time atop their new menus tomorrow, along with a few new fine cuisine announcements.
The new menu features everyone’s favorite, classic Portofino’s dishes, but it also includes some new dishes, like Pork Parmigiana and both Veal and Bronzini Francese – these are expertly prepared dishes you absolutely won’t find in most other Italian restaurants – and they will quickly become the new favorite of anyone that orders them.
In addition to Portofino’s exciting new menu, tomorrow they are announcing their new Sunday special: “Nonna’s Abbondanza: Grandma’s Sunday Feast” – this weekly specials will be available only on Sundays, and will feature a classic, slow-simmered Sunday gravy, packed with Italian meat delicacies, just like Grandma used to make. This, plus Portofino’s famous Chicken Parmigiana, pasta, salad, and a fresh-stuffed cannoli.
